Rock Cycles
What are the cycles rocks go through? The Rock Cycle is a cycle of changes between rock types. During the Rock Cycle, any given rock can change into any of the three major rock types that we have learned about. A lot of things cause the changes between rock types. Melting metamorphic rocks change back into magma, and we learned that cooling magma forms igneous rocks. Heat and pressure turn sedimentary and igneous rocks into metamorphic rocks. Weathering and erosion causes rocks to turn into sediments, which we have learned make up sedimentary rocks. The rock cycle NEVER ends! You're welcome to visit a COOL interactive rock cycle diagram.
